One of the weirdest games in Reds history....It was some what of a flat preformance for the Greensboro Reds until the end.
Dale Robertson kept the team in game with a solid pitching preformance through 7 innings of work. Down 3 in the bottom of the 9th the Reds who had only 2 hits to that point started a rally....Walks, HBP, Error, Intentional Walk and a couple of timely hits by Travis Moore, Jermaine White, Darris Sawyer, Jared Orton and Andrew Davis brought the Reds back to tie the game.
The Reds could most likely won the game had they ran out the bases with 2 outs on the game tying hit by Andrew Davis, a ball that hung in the air forever between between the Hurricanes CF and RF.
As the Reds who were fired up, headed to take the field in the top of the 10th.....the game was ended by the opponent due to lack of pitching.
An understandable decission but a curious one.
Shocked by the decission the Reds went on to shake the hands of the visiting Carolina Hurricanes players. After the game Thomas Eaton Coach of the Hurricanes stated that he would like to finish the game at the next game between both clubs.
Coach Enad Haddad was quoted after the game as saying "I dont know how I feel but I feel better than I did 10 minutes ago"
Jared Orton with a smile: "Thats Un-American to end a game in a Tie that way"
